Sexual Abuse Prevention Policy

At 3s League, the safety, well-being, and development of our players is our top priority. We are committed to creating a positive, inclusive, and secure environment for every athlete, family, coach, and staff member.

Below you'll find our core safety policies and procedures. These policies apply to all 3s League programs, events, staff, coaches, referees, volunteers, parents, and participants.


Purpose

3s League is committed to providing a safe, positive, and abuse-free environment for all participants. Sexual abuse, grooming, and sexual misconduct are strictly prohibited.

Scope

This policy applies to all 3s League staff, coaches, referees, volunteers, contractors, parents, and participants.

Prohibited Conduct

The following behaviors are strictly prohibited:

  • Sexual abuse or sexual misconduct of any kind
  • Grooming behaviors including private communication, favoritism, or gift-giving
  • Sexual harassment, verbal or physical
  • Emotional, physical, or sexual misconduct
  • One-on-one interactions that are not observable and interruptible

One-on-One Interaction Standards

To reduce the risk of abuse, all interactions between adults and minor athletes must follow these standards:

  • One-on-one interactions must be observable and interruptible
  • No closed-door meetings between adults and players
  • Parents or guardians must be permitted to observe any individual training
  • Transportation of players requires written parent or guardian consent

Electronic Communication

  • All electronic communication with players must be open and transparent
  • Parents or guardians must be copied on all messages
  • Group messaging is required whenever possible
  • Private direct messages between staff and players are prohibited except in emergencies

Mandatory Reporting

All 3s League staff are mandatory reporters of suspected or actual abuse. Reports must be made immediately, even if the abuse is not confirmed. Staff must not conduct their own investigations.

All suspected or actual abuse must be reported immediately to:

  • 3s League leadership, Blake Arnet
  • Local law enforcement or child protective services when required by law

Reports may be made in person or via email, phone, or an approved online reporting mechanism. Reports will be handled promptly and confidentially to the extent permitted by law. Retaliation against any individual who reports a concern in good faith is strictly prohibited.

Training & Compliance

  • All 3s League staff must complete abuse prevention training prior to starting work
  • Background checks are required before beginning any role involving athlete interaction and are conducted in accordance with Players Health standards
  • Annual acknowledgment of this policy is required
