Role Overview
3s League is seeking reliable and detail-oriented Scorekeepers to support game operations for our youth Olympic-style 3x3 basketball league. Scorekeepers play a critical role in ensuring games run smoothly by accurately tracking score, time, and basic game events across two half courts simultaneously, while helping create a positive and organized environment for players, referees, and families.
No prior 3x3 experience is required. Training on league rules, scoring procedures, and systems will be provided.
Key Responsibilities
- •Accurately keep score for Olympic-style 3x3 basketball games
- •Manage score, game clock, and possession tracking for two half courts at the same time
- •Track basic game information as required by the league
- •Communicate clearly with referees and Court Monitors regarding score, time, and possessions
- •Ensure games on both courts stay on schedule and flag any issues to league staff
- •Set up the 3s League cell phone camera and stand before games
- •Start and stop video recording for each game according to league procedures
- •Monitor camera positioning and basic functionality during games
- •Maintain a calm, focused, and professional presence at the scorer's table
Qualifications
- •Prior experience as a scorekeeper or in a similar role preferred, but not required
- •Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask effectively
- •Comfortable working in a fast-paced, multi-game environment
- •Reliable, punctual, and professional
- •Positive attitude and ability to work well with youth, staff, and families
- •Interest in basketball or youth sports is strongly preferred
Training, Compliance & Safety
- •On-the-job training provided, including 3x3 rules and dual-court scoring procedures
- •Must complete all league-required compliance and child safety training
- •Must pass a background check prior to working games
- •Commitment to maintaining a safe, respectful, and inclusive environment
